This is dedicated to Painland Week collection on AO3. We would love to house here all Painland Week submissions. Work should be new and created specially for Painland Week. Works do not have to be completed within the week, WIPs are allowed.

- Post your creative work (fanfic/socmed/art/edit etc.) on the designated theme day or afterwards.
- For each prompt you can use your art medium to create something centered around that prompt. The usual is art/fanfiction, but other mediums are welcome! It's up to you to come up with something cool!
- Tag your post with #painlandweek on tumblr or twitter and we will reblog/retweet. #DeadBoyDetectives tag is also welcome. Also you may tag our accounts.
- This fest is dedicated to Painland, so works must center this ship.
- The only rule is don't jump ahead, i.e. don't post something themed for Day 3 on Day 1.

LANGUAGE OF LOVE / SICKFIC: Everyone has their own love language. Works may focus on the manifestations of attention and love for each other by Charles and Edwin. These can be words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, protect, physical touch etc.
In the work, you can imagine how one of the boys gets sick or under some circumstances suffers, and the second one takes care of him. This may include a mild illness or a more serious one that can have serious consequences.

MYTHS / LEGENDS: The plot of the work is focused on myths and legends or their reworking. This could be a retelling of Greek mythology, the familiar Orpheus and Eurydice. Also Egyptian mythology, Fictional mythology, Roman mythology, etc.

LOVE CONFESSION / FIRST KISS: The work pays significant attention to declaration of love, declaration and acceptance of feelings, in which the first kiss plays a significant role. How it's done, and the reactions to it, will vary.
The work could focus on Charles's awareness of his feelings. It can also be imagined that Edwin confesses his feelings in hell. You can imagine under what circumstances.

DOMESTIC AU: Guys are placed in domestic scenarios, which are removed from the stresses of canon and living their everyday lives. These could be works about how the guys are relaxing after another solved case, or preparing for a new case in the office, being in a comfortable environment, something about their life in the office and London, what they do when they don’t have work, and so on.

CANON DIVERGENCE / CASEFIC: The work deviates from, reworks, or ignores certain important canonical details and/or events, but is otherwise canonical. Charles and Edwin could have met sooner or later. They might have met under different circumstances, or they might both still be alive.
Imagine detectives in their natural environment, sleuthing, deducing, tracking down, chasing for clues. The brains and the brawn of the operation in action.

FREE DAY: Free day for all works that do not fit with any of the themes.

SOULMATE AU / CROSSOVER: Maybe your work imagines "soulmate marks", the concept that Charles and Edwin were always destined to be together, destined to die only to meet in the afterlife. Or let's say in the Book of Destiny their meeting was recorded from the very beginning.
Make the boys meet some characters from another story and thanks to the meeting - realize some of their feelings.

1. Works must be centered around Painland - Edwin Payne/Charles Rowland from the tv series 'Dead Boy Detectives'.
2. Don't go ahead with the prompts!
3. You don't have to post finished work. WIPs are welcome.
4. Please, tag anything that can be triggering for some people - general etiquette of AO3 applies here.
5. We reserve the right to remove any work that violate the above rules.
