Intro:

This is a gift exchange aimed at anyone looking for something short and quick, maybe for something in between holiday exchanges. The goal is to keep things simple and have fun!

FAQ:

Basic Info:

-minimum word count is 200. There is no maximum word count.

-this event is fast-paced, with a short amount time to nominate, sign up, and create fic. Check the schedule for more info.

-RPF characters must be 18+ irl.

-any other content is allowed as long as it follows the giftee's Do Not Wants, fandom, character, and ship requests.

-you may nominate a maximum of 6 fandoms, 6 characters, and 6 ships each.

-you may request and offer a minimum of 3 fandoms and one character or ship each and a maximum of 10 fandoms and 6 characters and ships each.

-"ships" means relationships between characters (both & and /), "characters" means a work focusing on that character by themself. Please do not nominate characters if what you actually want is ships!

-if you want to request or offer characters only or ships only you may use the "no ships" or "no solo characters" tag.

-If you select both "no ships" and "no solo characters" for a fandom it will be assumed you mean, quite literally, no ships or solo characters for that fandom unless specified in your DNWs. This can be interpreted loosely (poetry, enviroment fic, fics that dont really have a POV character) but is NOT a way to get around nominated characters and ships. This is, instead, to allow for more experimental fic.

-poetry and other forms of writing are allowed as an entry. Specify if you do or don't want to receive/give that in your DNWs.

-I will email you if im having trouble matching you to potentially work something out.

-its entirely possible i will finish matching early. Feel free to start writing as soon as you are matched.

-if you must default, sooner is better than later. You will not be judged for it!

-gift fic is welcome any time, but will be revealed the same time as the deadline. There is no minimum word count for gifts, but they must be something the giftee would reasonably want to receive. Gifts also do not have to be fic and can include other mediums.

-if you have any questions or need to ask for an extension, please feel free to email me! This includes if you've never done an exchange before and are confused as to how it works.

-if you wish to be a pinch hitter please email me!

Rules:

-follow all of the DNWs of your giftee.

-placeholder fics or gibberish will not count as being on time for the deadline.

-if you do not give a fic or default after the deadline, you may not receive a fic.

-if you finish your fic after the deadline without an extension request, after passing the extension deadline, or want to give a gift despite defaulting after the deadline, that is perfectly fine and i encourage it, but it will still count as a penalty default.

-fics submitted within a few hours of the deadline will count as on time. If you have trouble submitting them please let me know.

-A gift fic that hits the minimum word count will not garuntee you a fic in return but will be enough to garuntee entry after a penalty default if and when this event is hosted again.

-no external letters specifying gift requests will be allowed in this exchange to keep things simple. You can still put DNWs and other info in your request.

-you can not ask for fandoms not nominated.

-You may request characters and ships not nominated in your DNWs and prompts section but do not expect to receive fic about them or be matched by them. This includes if you have requested characters and in your prompts and DNWs you indicate you want ships involving those characters.

-do not request or offer a character if you want to request/offer a specific ship including them; the character request option assumes solo fic.

-likewise, don't nominate a character if you want a specifc ship with them in it; nominate that ship instead.

-if you request "no ship"/"no solo character" alongside other characters/ships, you will be allowed to clarify what you mean in your DNWs. If you ONLY select those, it will assume you mean a no solo character/no ship fic, and thats how you will be matched.

-selecting "any character" or "any ship" for a request or offer means you are ok with receiving or writing fic about ANY character or ship respectively. This will also mean a no character/no ship fic unless specified in your DNWs. Select this wisely.
