Since Re:63 is clearly not working out, let's try something, completely different from step one. No! From Zero!
Natsuki Subaru was not the kind of guy people would ever describe as fulfilled. Between abandoning the music club he once was so passionate about and locking himself in his room to practice on his guitar, never to share his music with anyone, his life was an empty, shameful thing.
However, against all logic and reason, one day he would find himself in another world like in one of those ridiculous pulp stories, only without a word of guidance to lead him.

Natsuki Subaru is pushed off the beaten path at the start of her journey, and onto a path far, far longer, only to emerge... In a certain kind of rebel spirit.
Original working title: "Natsuki Subaru's Bogus Disstrack Adventure"
Initially started as part of an Fic Exchange entry, it quickly grew to officially take the place of Diligence IF.
The prompt given by a member of Re:63's discord, was quite simply, to write a 'mainline' version of the canon Pride IF Subaru, which is to say, a Subaru that has failed countless times, but instead of shacking up with the Witch Cult, stuck by the people important to her, thus more or less following along the path set for her by certain conspirators.In practice, this fic's chapters focus on a different, more grizzled Subaru in the focus of things, who has grown outstandingly accustomed to her abilities, and has made peace with the fact that she's going to die countless deaths, focusing on more important things!

Perhaps, in this new isekai fantasy world she can find the perfect, royal, isekai heroine life that she so clearly deserves... Spriteanon makes the mistake of hastily deciding he wants to write something in time for Otto's birthday, and not only that, but write the whole thing from the POV of a cat who has no higher cognition.
Why does he do this?
Because he's a fool.First chapter takes place somewhere around the very beginning of Arc 1, possibly before it, depending on where you count it from.
Second chapter is set not long after Arc 4 of Re:63.

The splitting point between the two series occurs at the very end of Arc 3, leading into the first chapters of this series and the main one respectively, which I do not wish to spoil if you haven't read the story up to that point yet, so I'll leave everything else here vague!

Summary
On today's feature presentation, the role of Tappei is played by Spriteanon, featuring SNUser as Editor-kun and guest starring BerylTheManatee as Otsuka!
Started on a whim on April 4th, 2021 as a bit of practice, this is a semi-retelling of the story of Re:Zero which does and will diverge within certain limits from the original story itself, incorporating a number of ideas which's disclosure for the most part would serve as nothing but spoiler.
The primary divergence present from the start, is what the whim was based on. A community cried out, as the writer of a "Fembaru" fanfic disappeared, and so was born this story to fill the void. If "Fembaru" is unclear, the initial divergence, is that in this world Natsuki Subaru is in fact a woman. However, one should neither expect the world to be fully switched when it comes to the sexes, nor that Subaru is the only one who is switched. Since again this fanfiction was started to fill a void in a community, said community got a vote on which major characters would switch and which wouldn't. In future, as the story progresses, similar votes may still be held.
