We also help preserve and reupload lost works that focus on similar topics or from SWIF creators with their permission.

Fanworks are anonymous and protected from identification by AO3 terms of service. The collection is always open with limited moderation. Please be sure to read the rules and FAQ first to see what kind of content is allowed and in demand for this collection.

Fanworks on the front page are randomized to allow everyone a chance to have their work seen. Please feel free to look through the collection and enjoy the works posted here!

FAQ:

1. What kind of works are allowed in this collection?

Although this collection mostly focuses on fanworks related to sex work and sex worker characters, we welcome any and all works done by current or former sex workers. These works can be anything from one-shots, multi-chapter stories, poetry, fanart, songs, AUs, abandoned works, fan-comics, screenplays, scripts, character analyses, radio scripts, fanvideos, animations, sketches, etc. The only things that aren't allowed are fanworks that would violate AO3s policies such as but not limited to links or requests for monetary exchanges or donations, advertisements, targeted harassment campaigns, requests for fanworks/prompt lists, copyrighted material that isn't properly cited, plagiarism, etc. We also reserve the right to remove and report works for violating these policies. All fanworks must be properly tagged with appropriate warnings, tags and ratings. Readers are responsible for their own navigation of fanworks in the collection.

2. Do I have to be a current or former sex worker to upload here?

Nope. If you have a fanwork related to sex work and sex worker characters, go ahead and post it here.

3. Why anonymous works over orphaning works?

Creators of anonymous works retain the rights to their works such as moderating the comment section, replying to comments, seeing when kudos are put on their works and can also take down the work if they so choose, all without having the work attached to their account. They also still have the anonymous work included in their stats page. Orphaning a work separates the work entirely from the creator, meaning they also lose all this control. This collection automatically makes works anonymous while creators still retain complete control over their works, making the process easier on creators.

4. Why was this collection made?

After discussing with several fellow SWIFs, we have found that a lot of us have been treated unfairly by our respective fandoms, ironically ones that often contain a lot of sex workers in canon. Many SWIFs often fear sharing their works on public fanfiction sites for fear of unjust harassment. We made this collection as a middle-ground alternative to help preserve these works in a safe place as well as creating a place where readers could find these works more easily.

5. What happens if someone is leaving threatening comments on my works or is threatening to reveal my identity?

One of the ways that creators can help protect their comment sections is by limiting who can comment. This can be done by limiting comments to only letting those with accounts comment, moderating a comment section, or by just removing the comment section altogether. If a person is threatening to reveal the identity of someone's anonymous or orphaned work, is against AO3 policy. They will be booted from the collection and reported to the AO3 report system.

6. Are works involving OCs and self-inserts allowed in this collection?

Yes. As long as they are tagged properly.

Rules:

1. Although this collection mostly focuses on fanworks related to sex work and sex worker characters, we welcome any and all works done by current or former sex workers. Creators don't have to be a current or former sex worker to upload fanworks related to sex work or sex workers on here though.

2. Fanworks that aren't allowed are fanworks that would violate AO3s policies such as but not limited to links or requests for monetary exchanges or donations, advertisements, targeted harassment campaigns, requests for fanworks/prompt lists, copyrighted material that isn't properly cited, plagiarism, etc. We also reserve the right to remove and report works for violating these policies. Fanworks that are intentionally bashing a sex worker character will be removed as well. Having different opinions is fine but writing a piece that is just bashing sex work or sex workers, fictional or otherwise, will not be tolerated. These works will be removed from the collection and possibly reported as harassment.

3. All fanworks must be properly tagged with appropriate warnings, tags, and ratings. Readers are responsible for their own navigation of fanworks in the collection.

4. Harassing a creator in the comment section or threatening to reveal the identity of someone's anonymous or orphaned work in the collection is against AO3 policy. Doing this will result in being booted from the collection and reported to the AO3 report system.
