And Eddie — Eddie was safe, Steve thinks, blinking away the sleep from his eyes, groaning slightly as he rolls over to block the sunlight streaming in through the cracks in Eddie’s shitty, half-broken blinds. And then he panics for approximately five seconds when the body his sleep-drunk brain had automatically designated as Eddie lets out a soft, feminine oof, followed by ‘Steve?’
Okay. Definitely not Eddie. And then, then, all the events of the last night play deliciously in his mind before his brain catches up enough to realize Chrissy Cunningham is still curled up in bed between them. And…Steve is pretty sure he just accidentally rolled on top of her. With an apologetic grin, Steve shifts until he’s on his side again.
“Sorry,” Chrissy whispers.
“Did you just apologize to me for nearly squishing you to death? You’re lucky Eddie’s not awake, or you’d be in trouble, babe.”

They’re in Eddie’s bedroom, Steve sprawled out carelessly on Eddie’s desk chair. Chrissy had stood there awkwardly in the doorway, not sure what to do or where to stand until finally, Eddie had grabbed her hand and pulled her inside without pretense, pointing to his bed before heading to his closet, muttering to himself.
“You can sit down, you know. We won’t bite," Steve says.
“Unless you ask,” Eddie quips, turning away from what Chrissy assumes is where he keeps his…stuff…long enough to wink at her suggestively.
