Summary
Peter hasn't been Spider-Man in a long time.
After Aunt May's death, Peter walked away from the Avengers, abandoned his old life, and became a for-hire mercenary, accompanied by Deadpool's signature thought boxes in his head.
Unfortunately, the Avengers aren't too keen on a spider-themed killer throwing dirt on the name of their old pal, Spider-Man.
OR
Of course, Peter was no fool. He’d made sure that the Spider used a different formula for web fluid. This Spider was first spotted in New Jersey before migrating to New York, and he spanned the surrounding cities as well. He even used his last hurrah at the Bugle to publish an editorial on the death of Spider-Man—what many called an unfounded conspiracy theory, but subconsciously accepted as the truth as it became clear that the web-slinging hero wasn’t returning. And the Spider kept a relatively low profile, slinging in empty alleys and atop rooftops where he wouldn’t be seen. For most, with the exception of the Avengers and internet nuts, the Spider was a legend.

His gaze flicked back to Peter, who was trying to laugh it off, and something inside him snapped. "You're fucking kidding me."

"Deal." The word came out clipped, too short.OR
The events after BND, in which Peter and Frank realize they’re not too different after all. Even after they fight and argue they’re both two branches off the same tree.

Summary
He looks at the kid’s pale face, features slack, tubes sticking out of him as his breaths come out wet and labored, and he can feel something inside of him snap. A white hot incandescent rage burning in the center of his chest. All encompassing.
You did this to him, he thinks.
(Frank keeps Peter company in the hospital room. He thinks about some things).
