Summary
Ciri has already learned the basics of witchering at Kaer Morhen and is now at the Temple of Melitele to learn from Yennefer how to control the connection to chaos swirling inside her. Given Yennefer's utter lack of experience with teaching, or children in general, this goes about as well as one can expect; which is to say, a room explodes. Trying to pick up the literal pieces of her destroyed equipment and the metaphorical pieces of Ciri's shattered trust in her, the sorceress discovers (after some pointed prodding from Nenneke) that she may have learned more from the stoic Tissaia de Vries than just magic after all.

Summary
And now here they were, their rough edges smoothed down by scraping against one another the wrong way too many times until they fit perfectly together. If Geralt sometimes thought more about how they could fit together, about how their lips could mold to slide against one another perfectly like every other part of them did now, that was his own business.

Summary
"Filthy mutt,” the soldier muttered furiously, wiping Geralt’s blood from his cheek as his compatriots jeered behind him. “I’m going to enjoy teaching you a lesson, just you wait.”
Geralt bared his teeth in a vicious snarl, but before he could do anything more a rustling from nearby foliage drew both of their attention. He and his interrogator watched in faint surprise as something bright and maroon, with a disturbingly large feather coming out of its head, came stumbling out of the bushes and into the center of the clearing.
“Ah...well then,” Jaskier said with obvious false cheer, clutching a far-too-large sword with both hands in front of him. “This is somewhat awkward now isn’t it?”
Geralt is captured by Nilfgaardian soldiers hunting for Ciri. Jaskier plans a daring rescue but it doesn't go quite as planned...or does it?
