Spencer stiffens in his arms the way he does when conversation gets too genuine, dropping his gaze to where his hand rests on Shayne's sternum. "No."
"Okay."
The fingers on Shayne's chest ball into a loose fist. "You think I should've?"
He answers without a second's hesitation. "Yeah."
"Really? Why's that?"
"I dunno. Seems like there might be a lot out there for you."
"I got everything I need right here," Spencer states, and a piece of Shayne's heart crumbles with the certainty that Spencer thinks he means it.
"You don't though, Spence," he says. "You just don't."
