Three months after the Fourteenth Doctor has parked his TARDIS in Donna Noble’s garden, a conversation between Donna and other past companions brings up the one person that the two of them haven’t discussed: Martha Jones. Loving her still, despite all of the things that this face had done to Martha before, Donna convinces him that he at least needs to finally talk to her. He owes them both that.

The Doctor misses her, and the TARDIS misses her, and even before her nightmare he’s finally ready to admit his feelings for her. But the Doctor is jealous, and he never handles jealousy well.
