Percy had always wanted to believe that what Chiron was saying was the right thing. That to be a hero they needed to follow what he said. But he definitely had wondered a few times just how in touch the centaur really was with mortals. And how much he was in touch with the realities of war, let alone in a big city, right as they were heading into the final confrontation.

Summary
Percy really is trying hard not to let it bother him. He's used to at this point people just passing him over. Or doing the bare minimum if it wasn't his own Mom. But to have this keep happening at camp where he was supposed to belong. To be basically told that even if he died he probably wasn't worth more then his enemy's 10 minutes at most?
It hurt.
