Summary
Lottie Matthews is fine. Really. She's a little lonely, a little invisible, but she's fine. She is comfortable fifth-wheeling in her friend group now that Laura Lee transferred. It only stings a little when she thinks about how Laura Lee leaving is her fault. She's fine.
She's fine until Natalie notices her.
Natalie Scatorccio is doing great. She went from D3 to D1 overnight, she made it out of Wiskayok, and she's on scholarship now. Partial scholarship, but still.
Having a super hot new friend doesn't bother her at all. Really.

Summary
“This is just a one time thing,” Natalie reinforces quietly, refusing to look at Lottie as she says it. Her voice isn’t bitter or gritting, it’s just matter-of-fact. It’s simply a command that this won’t happen again, that Natalie won’t find herself crawling through Lottie’s window on all fours any other night this week or month or year. Lottie doesn’t believe it for a second, but she agrees regardless. It placates Natalie, to give in to something like this where tenderness is on the line, so her silent head nod is nothing short of generous.
newsflash - it was not a one time thing. or; the girls get nightmares after being rescued. sleeping with someone else seems to help.

Summary
Jackie finally broke up with Jeff because she refused to let him ruin the rest of her senior year. Then, in a late-night moment of clarity (or maybe just impulsiveness), she decided it was time to start exploring girls. When the team found out, some of the girls took it as a challenge, determined to be Jackie’s first ever girlfriend.
A universe where everybody wants that cookie.
Comp-het Jackie, telling herself this is an experiment at best.

Summary
“We make a good team,” Lottie says, and Nat might be drunk but she’s not drunk enough to miss the way Lottie’s eyes flicker down to her mouth. “We should do this more often.”
Nat snorts. “Right. Whatever, Matthews. Never going to happen.”
“Okay,” Lottie says, tilting her head to the side with an eerily all-knowing smile. “If you say so.”
Lottie gives Nat another blatantly obvious once-over before turning on her heel and walking away, stupid tiny skirt swishing around her thighs, and Nat is reminded all over again of the fact that Lottie Matthews, in addition to being a frat girl and the most obnoxious person alive, is also on the University of Wiskayok’s soccer team, and the proof is right there in front of her.
