Summary
Borderland started as a manga.
An anonymous project Arisu created to pour dangerous fantasies onto paper — and keep his mind under control.
But when he opens his eyes and finds himself inside that world, the line between fiction and reality shatters.
Now, trapped in a place too cruel to be a dream and too familiar to be a coincidence, Arisu tries not to lose himself… and tries not to draw attention.
The problem is that Chishiya is watching.
And Chishiya — the character Arisu drew based on a real doctor — is far too smart not to notice that something is wrong. -

Summary
Arisu was pretty sure it was normal for people to feel different after coming back from the dead.
He could absolutely understand why someone might appreciate life more after almost losing it. He himself had found himself far more motivated to do something with his life than he ever had been before.
What made far less sense was the other thing.
Because try as he might, he couldn't begin to understand why he had come back from the dead unable to get the Mona Lisa out of his head.

Summary
That should have been the end of it. They had all made their choices and, as such, each player who had rejected residency awoke disoriented in hospital, dreams of death and pain slipping from them like water through fingers. Each was struck with a new sense of purpose and a realisation of just how lucky they were to be alive. Their brush with the meteor—their near-death experience—had given new meaning to their lives. They were going to survive, but, more than that, they were going to live.
Unbeknownst to them, the Borderlands wasn’t done with them yet.
There was still one card they had yet to play.
And the Joker was the wildest card of them all.
