‘Tis the season to long for what wasn’t, yes, that’s right it’s august fest!!!!!!!!!!!! No intro needed, I BELIEVE (unless you’re new), but if you are, welcome. (Folk)lore has it that we as a group decided months ago to reserve an august timeslot for august by the one and only taylor swift, so here we are! Prompts are directly taken from the song itself (at your risk of looking back), and we could not be more excited to have lived, loved, and lost with you <3

1. Must be a member of the Dragon-Heartstring Discord server.
2. Prompt claims are first-come/first-served; one prompt claim per person and one person per prompt.
3. The word count limit is 500-2000 words. Submission must be a complete, standalone piece, as in no WIPs or multi-chapter fics are allowed.
4. No crossovers with other fandoms; AUs are welcome.
5. Pairing can be ANY, including GEN. As usual, use proper tagging and archive warning etiquette.
6. This fest does not allow use of generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT).
7. This fest is anonymous, so you may not share your work anywhere else before reveals. There will be no guessing this round, as we would like to encourage everyone to cheer on our peers for writing outside their comfort zones earlier versus later.
8. Everyone is required to read to be eligible for awards.
9. One alpha/one beta per participant is allowed, as long as they’re not participating.
10. No incest, necrophilia, pedophilia, and/or bestiality. Implicit/explicit sexual content will be permitted if you can fit it into the yearning theme of the fest.
