Summary
Buck is at a loss, so he calls Maddie. He forgets that it’s 3 am, so he apologizes for a solid two minutes before she cuts him off and asks what’s wrong.
“Eddie… told me we were getting married.”
The silence is damning.
“…You wanna run that by me again?"

Or: When Taylor tells Buck she loves him, Buck tells Eddie about it. And Eddie? Well, he goes right for the jugular.

Summary
They're friends, that's all there is to it.
Until Eddie lets himself into Buck's apartment unannounced, and finds him in a compromising position. That should be nothing, just something to laugh about down the line, except afterwards, it's like a switch has flipped, and neither of them can get it out of their minds.
The solution? They need to get it out of their systems. Just one time, and things will go back to normal. But one time turns to two, which turns to more nights spent together than apart, and still, they haven't actually spoken about what any of this means for them.
They're still just friends, right? -

Summary
“Tommy didn’t give you that hickey?”
“It was,” Buck doesn’t understand why it is so surprising to her. This is not something uncommon, people give other people hickeys all the time. “Eddie.”
“Are you and Eddie together?”
“What? No, Eddie’s my best friend.” And why would Maddie think that?
Or: Buck and Eddie's friendship is a little different than "normal".
