Summary
Phil tried to be a good father. He really did.
It was hard when he had everyone else in the town depending on him as part of the guard, but he was determined. He'd already lost his wife to the creatures that prowled outside the town's walls, and he refused to lose any more of the ones he loved. His sons would live a safe life if he had to die trying.
So when he finds out about a secret his sons had been hiding from him, he will do anything to keep them safe. Even if it means hunting down the odd-looking giant they had come to love.
Or, an sbi au where they live in a town surrounded by man-eating giants and Tubbo just so happens to befriend one named Ranboo

Summary
The forest was evil. Tubbo knew that like he knew how to breathe or how to walk. It was engrained in him since he was young when his father would still lift him up onto his shoulders to see the wall separating their town from the monsters outside. The forest would kill him with no mercy.
But Tubbo needed to be brave. He needed to prove himself to his family and his town.
However, bravery doesn’t protect one from the monsters that dwell in the woods. (No matter how kind they may seem)
