IN BED WITH THE MCLENNONS: Mr and Mr Lennon-McCartney talk about love and identities and family in the new era of queer acceptance and exploration, Rolling Stone, March 2025
"This latest era of JohnandPaul, as they often refer to themselves as, has been one of the most celebratory. As they've entered their 80s, it feels like the world is finally catching up with them. After decades of being staunch in their identities as a "mostly gay" neurodivergent man and his gender queer bisexual partner raising a family together, the latest generation, now able to live more loudly and proudly than ever, are idolizing them."
Non-linear narrative that weaves its way from 1958 to today, showing how their emotional and physical intimacy when they were younger and beyond shaped their sexuality and gender journeys, their families, their music and the world.

Summary
There were moments he thought he saw John and Paul look at each other and something would shimmer between them. He couldn’t be sure, and perhaps he was only indulging in wishful thinking or seeing something that wasn’t there, but - John’s face lost all tension when he looked at Paul. Paul stood a little straighter when John was telling someone to shut their gob and let him sing his song. He knew the signs.
Brian meets a group in the Cavern, and they change each other’s destinies.

Summary
Paul had heard about it from Tara. And Tara had heard it from Groovy Bob, and he had heard it from one of his other artsy friends.
Apparently John had been fooling around with men.
Paul didn’t buy it. Not really. It was just too out of character, too absurd to be true. The thought of it—John with another man—it was ridiculous, wasn’t it?
--
Rumours were going around about John—and Paul just needed him to say they weren’t true.
He hadn't expected them to be.
It never made the papers. But things spiralled, all the same—just between them. And Paul wasn’t sure whether he could handle it all.

“I feel so close to you, so tamed in my blood and taming yours, so deep in the forest, so restful in rest, that one doesn’t really want to say anything, but that up there through the trees the sky is visible, that’s all.”
