Summary
This is how it's supposed to go: The world is in shades of gray, until you meet your soulmate. When you do, your whole world suddenly changes. You look at each other, and you see color, and it's beautiful.
But, in third grade, Stiles looks at Lydia and sees color, and Lydia looks at Stiles and doesn't see anything. Because maybe it's not enough to just meet your soulmate - maybe you need to realise they're your soulmate for it to take effect. So how is Stiles going to get Lydia to realise he's the love of her life? With a lot of patience, apparently.

Stiles and Lydia bridge the gap.
---
“So you’re going to tell me that you’ve been sitting here, come rain or shine, every day after school believing that the girl sitting across from you isn’t flirting with you at all?” Scott says.
“It’s Lydia.”
“And you’d follow her to the end of the planet.”
“Yeah, so given that, the diner isn’t actually that far.”

Summary
For a second, Lydia thinks that this is the moment that their friendship finally snuffs it. She thinks that this moment, in a dimly lit ballroom with Sexy And I Know It playing in the background, might be the last one where she can pretend that things could've been okay with Stiles Stilinski at some point. And she thinks that maybe a wedding, with an open bar and a plethora of other, newer people to pay attention to, is probably the best place for this inevitability to occur.
But then, he smiles.
“You grew up, huh?” he says, eyes twinkling as he leans conspiratorially towards her. “Okay, then. Wanna grow down?”
