Stiles had whispered into the silence. Everyone heard him. There was a collective reaction, where everyone's shoulders dropped in relief. Like this weight they’d all been carrying around finally disappeared.
No one moved, not until Stiles’ shoulders started to shake. Laughter started to fill the space around them, something strained and broken. Stiles had folded forward and wrapped his arms around his stomach. Concern was thick in the air as everyone glanced around from the boy to each other.
“Sorry..I just, oh my god,” Stiles gasped, his knees hitting the cold concrete below him. No one moved to catch him. “I thought we were actually going to die. I mean, fuck.” He ran a hand through his already messy hair.
