In the forest there was a clearing, and in the clearing, there was a house. It’s made of wood and the roof is thatched. There is a small barn beside the home, just large enough to keep a chicken coop and some supplies. On the other side of the home there is a garden, well-tended and littered with bright flowers.
A woman watches a family play in front of this home. She stays hidden in the trees as the six children chase each other, laughing wildly. There is a fond smile on her face as she drinks in the scene before her.
She hopes one day she can tell them this story. That there was a time when they were happy, and carefree, and alive. She will tell them that the summer was warm, and bright, the wind was cool, and gentle.
She will tell them that there was a time—a brief wonderful time—when their parents called them in for supper, they were not afraid. That their mother and father embraced each child, running their fingers through the children’s hair, with their eyes glowing with love.
She will tell them that their lives started with love, not pain.
That will have to be later, though, because the Mikealson’s haven’t met her yet. But they will.
They are her destiny, after all.

Samar Al-Haddad's move to Mystic Falls proves to be the correct decision, despite all her mother's concerns.
The town was small, certainly, everyone was judgemental, of course, but Samar did not mention any of that to her mother over the phone, choosing to paint the small quaint town in the best light.
The true reason for her being in Mystic Falls would be lost on her mother otherwise, for how could she explain that the town's quiet life was far easier on her newly heightened senses than the busy life of New York? How could she explain that in Mystic Falls she could breathe in the fresh crisp air on a walk without inhaling twenty people's scent of blood? Lizzie and Josie lives with Caroline in the summer holidays, and they are with Alaric during the school year.
The Mikaelson's all live together in New Orleans. Caroline and Klaus had a son. Kol and Davina has a little girl. Freya has a newborn son. Rebekah and Marcel has twin sons.
