FAQ:
What counts as "Regency" or "Victorian"?
For the purposes of this exchange, "Regency" means 1811–1830 (the Regency + the reign of King George IV) and "Victorian" means 1830–1901 (the reigns of King William IV and Queen Victoria). HOWEVER, we're primarily here to have fun with 19th-century fandoms, people, and tropes. Strict historical accuracy is not required, expected, or guaranteed for any work in this exchange. Anywhere the rules say "an approximation of," they are inclusive of alternate Regency/Victorian eras, romance novels set in an idealized Regency era, steampunk, and other deviations from history. What counts as "the British Empire"?
