if you’re wondering what to read, start here. while every single work i’ve ever bookmarked is a rec (i only publically bookmark what i think others ought to read), this collection is for the carefully selected hp-stories that have stuck with me the hardest since i started properly reading on AO3 in 2018.
some of these have had a huge, detectable influence on my own writing; some of these just made me laugh so hard i couldn’t very well let them go. the authors featured here all have brilliant bodies of works that i warmly recommend you dive deeper into.

Read in 2020, still think about this one from time to time and keep returning to it. Absolutely captivating vignette fic, Lucius’s post-Azkaban state is treated seriously, Narcissa’s desperation is palpable, and Severus genuinely cares for her. Kinda tragic, will always rec. -

Rainy has written several great works and just has such a lovely writing style that I really vibe with—but there’s something really special about this fic. It just ticks the obsession, stalking & dubcon boxes perfectly, the way ’a devil lying by your side’ ticks the somnophilia & mommy kink ones. Just such great writing.
