All the breath left Jack, the room going cold at one more shock to the system. "But—I'm his emergency contact," he tried, because maybe the kid had misunderstood. He and Robby had talked about being emergency contacts, of course. But a lot of people didn't even list sex contacts because they weren't commonly needed, so registration treated them as optional. Jack didn't have one. Robby had never said a word about that.
Which made sense because he and Jack weren't fucking like that.

Robby feels safe in Jack’s arms. He tries not to get any melting ice on him.
“Yeah,” he agrees. He knows he probably won’t.
