Jack turns to look at Robby. His eyes are rimmed with red. Robby’s beat to hell second-hand paperback copy of First Blood and a half empty bag of sour candy are on the cushion next to Jack. The bag looks like it was hastily ripped open. The radio they usually use for baseball games is softly playing calming music. Ah. Robby sees what happened here.

The muscles in Jack’s jaw clench. “Well, fuck.”

It went off like a shot, a few gasps and mutters sounding out, Princess and Perlah leaning close, Jesse's eyebrows rising. Robby just stared at Santos for a silent beat, then turned to Shen. "Dr. Shen, if you'll start us off."
Ever unfazed, Shen simply bobbed his head. "Cool."
