Comment on Down to the Fighting End

  1. I read a few chapters to get a feel for your story, as the opening chapter was a very short one, but so far it's an intriguing premise. Seems like the Autobots really helped the allies against the Nazis, but I realise from your summary that things will not go so well for them and unfortunately not everyone is grateful for their help, which is hard to understand. I'm not sure why Lady Evelyn is so against the machines that have helped them win battles?

    1. At this point in the actual war, it was not going well:

The invasion of Sicily (July 1943) was technically successful, but the Axis still had strong defensive positions on the Italian mainland, and progress was slow.

Italy’s mountainous terrain and well-prepared German defenses meant the Allies struggled to advance quickly. Casualties were high, and morale could be shaky.

Evelyn had NO reason to believe the tides were going to change just because they had robots on their side.

She's been in the stink of it all before the Autobots ever showed up.

She's not against them per se, she's against false hope.

      Keep reading, you'll see.
