I almost tried to click the kudos button again because I really just want to kudos this again.
This chapter had danger and curiosity and that closeness that we love between the Doctor and Rose.
The swampy description was so appropriately worded. It’s a rainy day near me and my yard is soggy and gross. This chapter feels JUST LIKE MY YARD DOES. Excellent descriptions here.
The intertwining fingers is so intimate. It’s not just hands touching. They are linked. That was a small detail that says so much about the two of them.
The Recorem played the perfect monster here with a weakness that the Doctor was able to exploit to save Rose. It’s a fine example of the things that he is capable of showing her that goes beyond earthly understanding.
The flirty scolding by the Doctor at the end just rounds everything out so nicely. “Doesn’t make them gawk-worthy.” - This line was perfect for this. I get the feeling of borderline jealousy from him, that something else has Rose’s attention. I feel like he wants her, if only just a little bit, for her to gawk at him.
