It sounds like this is going to be a slow path to guardianship change, which is sad because the Dursleys are horrible. I'm hoping though that doesn't necessarily mean Snape will be a bully, even if his denial is expert level.
Love this story so far! Not sure what you have planned for dynamics within Gryffindor, but Draco is definitely an interesting addition. I'm sure Nella will slowly win him over.
I also think it likely here that Hermione would get jealous of Nella. Because Hermione is highly talented and top of most classes but Nella will be the one getting attention and compliments, then add that Hermione has a hard time making friends because of her know it all attitude while everyone wants to be Nella'e friend. Just a thought.
