    theres probably some parallel about how gilbert and rodrigue both have the same set of expectations over them as faerghus chud moid fathers, but gilbert had to go thru them more than rodrigue, causing him to hate himself for doing it, while rodrigue wishes he was in gilberts place or something idk. anyway they should have made out

      There’s certainly some parallels between them! The same attitude around death prevails in a lot of faerghus characters.
