It makes sense that Peter is being so detached and snippy with Tony as a coping mechanism for Tony’s “betrayal,” but also we just know that if Peter gives himself any emotional leeway that he’s going to lose it.
I found her, you know? This morning.” Tony breathed shakily, “she was unresponsive, it was like I was losing y-”
Was he going to say “it was like losing YOU”??? Just automatically, as if the spell couldn’t scrub out *everything*, particularly that bit of trauma!
“But,” Morgan looked confused, “Mommy said Daddy is never right.”
Peter spluttered out a surprised laugh while Tony attempted to look insulted-but mainly succeeded in looking unduly haggard.
I had a good laugh at this, haha
Tony knows, he knows something is going on with Peter! God I hope Tony tries to find Peter
Also everything with the elderly couple was so heartbreaking. This has to be Peter’s rock bottom; he has to feel like he has lost everything, and when he has already gone through that before
I'm glad I got you laughing and crying, the full hog of emotions lolol. Thank you for the lovely long comment! But yeah you're absolutely right about the emotional leeway, which you'll see begin to unravel in the next chapter. The same with Tony's trauma being here to stay, spell or no spell!
