AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am so giddy right now! I was definitely not expecting a response let alone to have the fic reposted but this is wonderful! I just read through it 3 times straight. I love Zavros and Vivi, they have definitely wormed their way into my head. They are such compelling OCs and I only met them for 3 chapters! I squealed so loud when I saw the post. (and again at the new note at the end of chapter 3!!!!!)
I like the additional tags you added, they all fit really well with everything you have set up. It would definitely draw me in even if I wasn't already low key obsessed with these books/this world. : )

It makes me really happy that you enjoy it so far. Sorry for such slow updates — that was why I took this fic down in the first place, with the intention to repost when I have more written. I thought leaving it suspended without new chapters would be rather annoying for potential readers ;)
Demonized is my favourite urban fantasy series, the chemistry between them and that anime-like vibe — or is it just me? Zylas reminds me a bit of Tomoe from Kamisama Hajimemashita, and Robin has my favourite kind of personality among book heroines ^^ I would love to see Annette write another series with them one day — fingers crossed :P
Currently I am working on chapter four and have the general plot for the whole story puzzled together in my head.
<3 that makes a lot of sense. I think I follow multiple of fics that are very slow (months to years between updates). And have even more I consider gems that will likely or explicitly never get further updates. So I am pretty desensitized to that. But admit to panicking mentally that this story was gone for good when I went to reread it and it wasn't there anymore.
I am super excited for chapter 4. But definitely don't feel rushed or pressure. Especially since we have now entered the overs and embers. I know a lot of people catching colds and holiday season brings an instability to routines that can be nice, but can also be stressful.
Also, same, Same, SAME I absolutely adore taming demon's for beginners etc. There is something so cool about Zylas an Robin's dynamic. i don't know it it is the forced proximity, hurt/comfort, the preditor/prey vibes, breaking down and seeking comfort in a being you know should have every reason to want you destroyed but actually doesn't. or something else I can't quite pin point. .. I don't understand why I can find so much fandom content for Invader Zim, or Five Nights at Freddies. and so little for a series that has me in a choke hold as bad as Annette's books and the guild codex world.*
it inspires me to want to try and write something someday. But it would be my 1st fanfic, and I have remarkably little confidence in writing. or at least writing anything I would want to read. Although if I can dream up a way Zylas could use a cookie to start a house fire, I might have to break out of my shell and put pen to paper regardless of how choppy it comes out. a concussion and blinding someone are easy and account for the first two cookies. But it is a nightmare so I want something more ostentatious and wild than just that (daydreaming about a cookie nightmare Robin wakes up from after the day she impulsively threw a tray's worth into the summoning circle. the-guild-codex-and-other-things brought up the idea and now it is rattling around in my head.
I also love Cleo_Calliope and SirenNightshade’s works they fall under the same category as this one that you wrote. I am so glad I get to read them and daydream about them. and talk about them and recommend them! If they get updates I will be ecstatic. But even if they don't I am so glad they shared them.
OC's are also a weakness of mine. AUs as well. I love cannon stories. but new pieces, people and what iffs are so much fun!!!! Zavros, H’Zad, Kieran are fascinating because they are more demon/human interactions and possibilities. I get to mentally slip between being myself, being the characters written, and daydreaming my own OCs and how they might alter the flow of the stories. it is so much fun!
*Tangent from above, but have you read Annette's Red Winter books?! they also reminds me of kamisama hajimemashita. I agree with you about Zylas and Tomoe. and actually Robin as well <3 don't get me wrong Tori is a delight. but I do gravitate/relate more with Robin as a character type. a note on Red Winter incase you have read them. Am I there only one who keeps wanting to blend/fold that world into the that of Wen Spencer's book Eight Million Gods? it would be so chaotic, I am not sure how it would work. but it pops up as a thought each time I read either of them. Just like I keep wanting to stick an OC with the "stepping" powers of Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter's Long Earth series into the guild codex or other urban fantasy worlds. wow that tangent went even wilder than I intended. lol
If you have the drive, I encourage you to write, it doesn’t need to be a multichapter story. Start with a one-shot, even 2–3 thousand words. There’s a nice kind of scary-rush once you click ‘post’ ;) And if someone doesn’t like it, they can kindly f*** off your profile. The rule is simple: ‘don’t like, don’t read.’ Never let the fear of someone’s hatred stop you from doing what you enjoy (unless it’s illegal, of course :P).
Cleo_Calliope — yes! When I found her rewrite from Zylas’s POV I was giddy. It’s so sad it ends at book three. The ‘continuation’ of Zylas/Robin in Breaking Rules for Professionals was also amazing, great work on SirenNightshade’s part.
I read Red Winter after Demonized and Spellbound. It was good, but for me it’s a one-time read. Demonized I’ve read, I think, three times, and I also love the audiobooks — the narrator does great work, at least to my ear.
That makes sense, I really loved red winter, but it hasn't felt time for a reread yet. Similar to you, i have binge read the guild codex demonized multiple times! Same with a lot of the fanfiction I have found/loved for it. I love new stories but reread a lot. . I am one of those people who mostly purchases books I have already read/loved.
i have now had multiple people recommend the audiobooks. I haven't tried them yet. but I just looked and they are availble at my local library! if i can figure out a headphone situation I will check them out <3
ps. just logged back in after the thanksgiving craziness and got the notification that chapter 4 is up. I am soooooo excited. but wanted to reply here first!
pps. Did you hear that Annette Marie mentioned she plans for Zylas and Robin to reappear latter on in the warped series!!!!!!! i my have mentioned that before but i am so excited for it i have been telling everyone including friends who haven't read the books yet.
