    I really do think that helping Shiver will be good for Dusk. He can build trust with someone as cagey as him and perhaps learn to accept others into his life.

      I think it would be good for both of them even if Shiver is afraid of Dusk at first. Dusk is obviously worried about Shiver. He just didn't have the chance to get a good look at him or talk to him. I just need to edit the next chapter and you already know that it's Shivers pov from the sneak peak and summary. So maybe it will be posted today. I'll try to get it done.

          He may still be misunderstanding things about Shiver being a pirate but that didn't stop him from helping. If anything he was confused that Shiver bolted when he was trying to help. When he sees the blood that will only make it clear that Shiver needed help from him in that moment. Even if he keeps telling himself he doesn't care, he really does care about others. Though he still has no idea what that little scare did to Shiver. Those pirates pretending to be nice isn't going to make things easy when Dusk decides to help Shiver.

            No, it won't help at all.

            Dusk can pretend he only collects the herbs because if his promise to Celeste but deep down it's because he wants - needs - to help. He didn't like seeing people suffer and, yeah, it probably stems from watching Celeste but it's still his choice.

              Dusk did make that promise and it drives him. But that doesn't mean he doesn't care about others that are hurting. He's just very conflicted and hurting himself. After losing her it's hard to get attached to anyone.

              I'm editing the next chapter at the moment. I think i'll be able to post it today.
