ITS HERE. this was so much fun to read initially and it’s so much fun to read now, as complete!
It breaks my heart the amount of around-and-around Eva does in her own head before she can voice an extremely reasonable desire to Wolf. It’s a very well done, subtle bit of characterization that brings you into where she is at and simultaneously presents it as so normal that it can almost slip by you! It does a lot to build the world that she lives in and the expectations leveled at her. And the way they talk around the issue of her infertility feels like a very realistic skirting of a painful subject. Eva :((
Adore the little expansions of the world in the sorts of magazines she reads! I think it’s a pity we don’t see more of the day-to-day culture of the empire because so much of its plot is in military wardrooms or noble manors, and this little glimpse is delightful.

And gosh she really is estimating her timing and words and method. Mentioning Reinhard was supposed to be the topping on her argument.
I love love love getting into the gritty of how a world would work and what the day-to-day looks like. As much as things would differ the mundane would always stay the same because humans are humans.
