Oh my God, thank you! And OF COURSE you have Wilson's translation in the quote, I have recommended her Homer translations to everyone who would listen!
I love the way you are writing the characters and diving into the parts of the world that the series don't cover. I especially like the way you portray Eva's feelings of being a failure, even though Wolfgang clearly doens't see it that way. And I would not want a traditional marriage for myself, but I like to see these sorts of relationships portrayed as loving and working, like you did here. Love the fic and once again, thank you!
I loved Wilson’s translations! And her forewords show just how much care and passion.
Thank you! I love world building and playing in other people’s sandboxes is a fun way to do it.
The big thing for Eva is to understand *why* he doesn’t feel that way and maybe perhaps apply it to herself(hint: it’s love!). My main question for this fic was what would a truly loving relationship look like under the patriarchy + the particular conditions they’re in.
Wolf and Eva genuinely loving each other is central to the conceit and also the critique; it couldn’t have been any other way.
And your thoughts on Eva were so formative to this work so of course I dedicated it to you lol (if you check the comments of 26. Family, you will find me there 🙈)
Btw I’ll be updating this fic weekly so check back this Wednesday/Thurs ☺️
