    Thank you sooo much for this double update!! I basically smiled like an idiot through the whole thing (and as I'm writing this), no joke

    Akira purposefully asking for Morgana to leave so he could tell Akechi that he was having trouble sleeping aghhh (nevermind that Akechi is the cause of it lol) and the whole trying to get as close as possible while still drawing this really convoluted trust line?? It kills me, it really does, but this exact dynamic is my weak pt; it's just so fascinating to think about??

    The part about Akira hesitating to take the tea bags and Akechi's reaction to it really kicked me because that was totally a mix of the usual self-deprecating "ofc he wouldn't take anything from me, what was I thinking" and maybe a bit of "he's suspicious of me"?? and when Akira all said was "You brought into the Metaverse?" I was like yesssss right reaction thank youuu
    Looks like both of them do want to confide in each other though, what with Akechi blurting out that "I wish I knew" + /Plato's Republic/ and Akira with the migraines and insomnia... ALSO! Akira slipping into first-name basis with Akechi like it's natural and /no one mentioning it/ I AM FLIPPING TABLES

    And look at those budding confidant links!! Yusuke with both Akira and Akechi, + that poor kid with the broken family! Akechi not knowing how to respond though, it makes so much sense! He pretty much specializes with talking to adults and on top of that, kids are so raw in this specific way, not to mention often family-focused, which Akechi really doesn't... have

    Ryuji being so chill and trusting and getting appreciation for it <3 I was really bummed that he basically became the butt of many jokes in canon ^^;

    I only thought of this just now, but the angry person on the other side of the phone!! Doesn't it seem a little strange that Akechi would be receiving that when he's the second coming of the detective prince and supposedly solving a looot of befuddling incidents??

    I can't get over how /fitting/ that highlighted quote is and all these little hints Akechi is dropping about his situation and Akira being patient about it revealing itself??? But then being all low-key (high-key?) anxious about if he could have prevented the latest psychotic breakdown... actually, Akira is already getting impatient about things since he's got timeline advantage; it makes me wonder if he'll slip up or if people will start suspecting something, since he doesn't seem to be a skilled liar (let him run the poker face route though...)

    Wow anyway thank you so much and have a great time IRL!!

      I am really enjoying writing their dynamic. Each confidant has their own means of growth, and so writing Akira's growth from Akechi's side of the social link is a challenge, but just little things like being able to be vulnerable as the leader go a long way. Esp for someone like Akechi who's never really felt close to anyone - to have someone open up to him is probably a big deal to him. And then the vice versa too for Akechi opening up. it is also killing me slowly that this is such a slow burn for them because every time I finish one of their little intimate scenes like the tea or book or Akira saying he hasn't been sleeping well I'm like JUST KISS ALREADY hahaha but ugh plot.

      I'm glad you're enjoying Akechi's budding confidant links too <3 I have a lot planned for his link with Yusuke too since I think they have a lot of points of commonality. Akechi so awkward when it comes to kids, I love it.
