    Me, reading about Bruce agreeing to go to the hospital: *LOUDER INTERNAL SCREAMING
    Me, reading the reunion scene: *actually crying and emitting a sound like a tea kettle*

    I kid you not, I had to wipe away real-life tears and muffle myself with a pillow. The emotional payoff was SO REAL.

    And all the stuff peripheral to Bruce and Jason is also masterful. The alternate media spins on Jason's legal papers, Vicki doing Bruce a reporter solid, Sanchez low-key realizing this is the scoop of THE FUCKING CENTURY and documenting the shit out of it, the medical staff's reactions ranging from judging to wait-oh-shit-he-didn't-know-guys-DEAD-KID-ALIVE-WHAT, Alfred being supportive even in the midst of his own grief. I'M SLAIN, YOUR FIC HAS SLAIN ME, I AM IN FIC HEAVEN.
