   I'll go one step further - it's a scam to establish a relationship where they may ask you do dodgy things in the future.

         No worries. It's not just on Ao3, they've been trying to scam players in a game that I play. :(

         A good rule of thumb these days is if they ask to speak off ao3, it's a scam.
