   I love your portrayal of Amlach here. I've had trouble writing him, and making his motivations for going to Himring consistent with his character, but somehow you manage it. And it's always refreshing to see Elves from a (not entirely positive) human perspective.

      I'm glad the characterization here works for you!
      At the time when I started writing it, I was thinking of it as a sort of "compare and contrast" with my story about Uldor, which I had completed just before. But I ended up working in other things as well.
