Are fraudulent accounts included in this statistic of newly created accounts, despite being restricted upon being reported?
Which leads me to another question: Since there are several statistics affected by either such fraudulent activity (new accounts, page views, even created works, reports) and other questionable, bordering on non-fannish activity (users uploading fully AI-generated text), is this being discussed internally? It's mildly unsettling to see no mention of these issues in the annual report itself, when these have persisted and been on the rise for years now, and when an acknowledgement would also honour the hard additional work done by staff dealing with scams and spam. One must wonder why and what for there seems to exist a growth mindset which finds itself nurtured by this uncommented graphic, especially so when these issues increasingly negatively affect users/fans and staff alike.
