This is what that episode needed. The explanation that Danny's previous exposure to Sarin made him even more susceptible to this chemical agent. Also I agree with you, Danny was pretty calm throughout the incident, even planning a waiting room for the restaurant. The anti-Danny Five-0 fans can be real jerks. But you did a nice job on this. Thank you! I really think that Danny made an effort to on one side, control his usual reaction in such situations, and on the other, showing that he was feeling as bad as he was. Having him talking about the waiting room for the restaurant was all for Steve's sake, I think. And at some point I thought it may even be to save Steve from the stress of seeing him worse, and scared. Like Steve would get sicker if he had to worry about Danny on top of everything else.
