Comment on A Lonely Mind

  1. This is fantastic work. Your characterization of that slipper slope so many of us has been on feels so real and grasps what it's like to rationalize things that seem utterly nonsense-logic to an outsider looking head on. Your ability to capture the essence of that void in one's heart is amazing and your writing overall is quite lovely.

"He just needed a little more time."

This last line really resonated with me, as I used (and to some extent still use) it when I am not in a good place. It seems completely innocuous and it's not malicious, but it's a symptom of something bigger amiss, and that line really hit me. Like you really, really understand. And I just wanted to thank you for all of your wonderful works that explore the inner machinations of someone with depression and anxiety. It's nice to see others who get it. So thank you, stay awesome, and I wish you well.

    1. Hello! I got your first comment, I'm not sure why it wasn't showing up on your end, but I really appreciate you leaving two comments, just to make sure that I got a comment from you. Thank you!

You understand so well. I'm glad I was able to portray everything accurately. Depression like this can be difficult to write, because it doesn't usually make sense to an outsider.

You are absolutely right about that line about needing a little more time. It seems like a harmless statement, but Lance was drowning quietly.

Thank you so much for your comments. I really appreciated hearing your thoughts.
