Comment on Harry Potter: The Chronicles of Power

  1. Personally, I love Hermione. But I hope this the following helps you get into it: Since Harry and Neville befriend Hermione when she's like 7 or 8 I think, she develops into a different person, a little bit. Or a lot, but yet, not, if that makes since. She is different but she is still, at her core, Hermione. Since she has friends now to stand up to her bullies, rather than having to rely on the teachers, she doesn't develop an authority figure complex, where she takes their word for gospel. Nor does she have to retreat into the world of books (even though though she loves the combined Potter-Longbottom Library), mistakenly believing that the written word is law. She is still Hermione Granger, but she is more outgoing, much less arrogant, and less of a "know-it-all," even if she is smarter than she was in canon because Lily takes her under her wing, just like she did Harry and Neville, and later on, Susan. But don't worry, Harry, Neville, and Susan are also a lot smarter than they were in canon because with parents, they have grown more confident, and with Lily teaching them prior to Hogwarts, she gets them up to speed on subjects such as Charms, Potions, Magical Theory, and wandless magic (Remember the flower petals? Lily could perform wandless magic in canon so she knows things, lol). And since Susan is included in the group, it's not the cliche "Golden Trio" but a quartet with Neville taking the place of Ron Weasley. Plus, Harry is way better at Quidditch than he was in canon since James and Sirius have, understandably, been teaching him and his siblings the sport since before they could walk and talk, lol. But don't worry, they definitely aren't overpowered. I love how James and Lily changes so much, but it still feels like its part of the same Wizarding World; I find it fascinating. It's a great story, and I am sure you will enjoy it. The amount of thought the author puts into it is amazing. And no, what I have told you are only small tidbits when compared to the overall story; I haven't spoken of anything too important so do not fear, I have not spoiled *anything* for you, or any other person who reads this. :))

And yeah, ikr. I personally love discussions and debates. Other than to read fanfiction, it's the main reason I come to these websites. I love exploring the various worlds, comparing them, and debating the various aspects of them. I see that you are the same way. :)

And nice. I see that idea in other stories too, about Rose being the name of Lily's beloved mother. Its a shame you didn't include poor Megan. :(

I wonder how Megan's family would have treated her had she joined Harry in Slytherin. :D

Given that I don't mind talking about characters that don't and won't exist, I will reveal that Megan would've been a Hufflepuff, joining the school in Harry and Alex's fourth year.

Book 2 would've originally been drastically different too.
