Comment on Ojos Que No Ven

  1. The magic of books

Could I really be the first comment on this? Wow...

And this chapter was heartbreakingly, wonderfully, unbelievably amazing! *wipes tears from eyes* You honestly made me sob at some parts. But I'm a sucker not only for pain but heartwarming scenes as well. The scene where Miguel gets dressed exactly like Héctor and doesn't need to face his family with his ripped and dirty clothes... d'aaaaaaaaw! :') Just the fact that Héctor thought of that and even brought him a hat like his. Stop making me cry, Miguelito killer! The family reunion was much funnier than I would have thought, but it isn't a bad thing. They weren't that emotional, close to crying, except Mamá Coco a bit, but we seriously needed to take a breather from all the pain. Also, the cute scene of Miguel singing on the rooftop with his Papá Héctor, literally starlit. Unfortunately, I don't know the song you're talking about. :( Which is it? It sounds very beautiful and I'd love to listen into it.

Definitely love this beautiful, soft chapter, but I'm at the same time ready for more soul-wrecking pain. Bring it on!
    Love from here,

    1. You're definitely among the first, Yuna! :D I was away from my laptop for most of the day, so I'm just now getting around to posting comments and replies--sorry about the wait!

sjdfa;lsjdadskl; so glad you got so much out of this chapter! (Sorry for the tears though!! I wish I could just... pass out tissues.... it's the least I could do for all the heartache I've caused!) Writing that scene with Héctor and Miguel was such a treat--I was grinning like an idiot as I was writing it, as well as kicking myself for making it sad. :/ Dirty Miguelito killer strikes again.

It seemed fitting to have the Riveras be more upbeat when they reunited with Miguel, somehow. They're all definitely still hurting and sad for him, but they know being sad in front of him will probably just make him feel worse. They all decided to focus on the positive aspects when they're with him and do their mourning when he isn't around to see (though I get the feeling that not all of them are going to succeed at this... :^D) It also was an incredibly fun scene to write... and more than a little self indulgent ehehe! The rooftop scene was fun too... and writing it killed me! The song from it is called "Hijo de la Luna" by Mecano, and it's a gorgeous piece. Worth a listen, I'd say!

Glad to hear you liked it! More pain coming hopefully very, very soon! (And thank you! Héctor's expression and body language in that shot were too great to pass up! ^^)

      1. Omg, yay. I was just firing up my laptop too to get to work and suddenly I notice a fifth chapter on this and I couldn't just not read it.

Don't worry, these tears were few and happy and yeah, there's much to get from this chapter. (But you're definitely right, you should be handling out a mountain of tissues for free on each chapter...) Every scene with Héctor and Miguel in here will be bound to have an underlying sadness in it, so don't worry. It comes natural. Dirty Miguelito killer: 1 - Helpless fanfiction reading crowd: 0

It was definitely nice for Miguel, although I expected more tears on both sides, but our little hero seems to be doing a great job so far in handling being dead. I also get the feeling that some will not be that strong, but I would love to see Imelda breaking down in one scene. (Hurting Imelda fires up my inner dark wolf... *Don't throw your boot at me, darling, I love you!*)

*spits out tea* WHAAAAAAAAAT??!! I had the feeling that it was that song, but I didn't think it would really be that! Of course I know it! It's only one of the best known Spanish songs ever, at least for me. And now I get the different voices and the background tracks, cause I love doing them too if someone else is singing the lyrics. Great job!

Like it? I love it! Yay, more pain! Get the tissues and chocolate ready! (Exactly, the scene when he finds out that Miguel is alive is so funny!)

If that isn't a perfect description of what reading this fic is like, I don't know what is. X)

Don't worry though--there's plenty of Rivera tears planned for upcoming chapters. They're just doing their best to make sure Miguel doesn't feel guilty, instead focusing on the good parts of him being there with them and making his first morning with them a happy memory instead of a sad one. ^^

And yuuuuup! It's that song. It's a beautiful one, and it's one I've had a fondness for since I was young, so of course I had to include it! (I'm incredibly self-indulgent, but hey, that's what fanfic is by its very nature: indulgent!)

More pain indeed! I'd have tissues nearby when it updates. I get the feeling that the next one is going to be particularly painful. uvu

          1. I know, right? The absolute perfect description. I'm putting copyrights on this, this is too funny... ;-)

Rivera tears are perfect for making salty caramel cookies, the best snack you can munch on (trying not to choke on...), while reading this story. Salty like the tears we shed, but also sweet like the undying (pun intended) love this familia has for each other.

I've listened to Hijo de la Luna on endless loop when I was little and I still love to listen to it today. I really like the mood in the melody and the lyrics, it's beautiful, but also mysterious and with a little sense of danger. You're absolutely right. Fanfiction is being self-indulgent up to the neck...

More paaaaaaaiiiiiiin!!!! Pronto, buy tissues and chocolate as if the apocalypse were tomorrow! *does exactly that* My heart is ready, bring it on... but at the same time, it's cowering in a corner, looking absolutely miserable. (Btw, the stones are rolling for The Darkness and the Past... *evil laugh*)
