Comment on Ride On

  1. Nope, no need for insecurities here. Definitely an enjoyable chapter to put it lightly. Supportive Chrissy, good big-sister Wynonna (in her own way), and Waves and Nicole in bed, I mean what more can you want?

    1. *sigh of relief*

Thank you! I still feel that this is so loooooong, but I'm glad it's enjoyable!

      1. Definitely not too long. I see what you meant though, and I think it made sense to keep it all together for sure.

P.S. the last thing I posted was 4,500+ words...soo don't want to hear it about being so loooooong :) if it works, don't fight it.

        1. Fair enough :)

I somehow don't feel as bad posting something longer if it's a one-shot. But a chapter...I don't know why I worry so much about that.

I'm glad you see what I meant here with not really knowing where to break it up. It just kind of ended up being one big package.

          1. No worries, I think it gets easy to doubt it/have second thoughts. But, for what it's worth, I think I've always looked forward to what's coming next with this.

            1. So true! It is sooooo easy to doubt and second guess. It means a lot to hear that this is working for you! Thank you!

              1. I might miss learning new cycling things like I did from the early chapters but the sweetness definitely makes up for it :)

                1. There will be more cycling fun very soon :) I have a plan....that might involve Wynonna, too!

                  1. Oh man, Wynonna on a different kind of bike. I can just imagine her putting a baseball card in the spokes or making motor noises as she pedals along.

                    1. AHAHAHA!

Now THAT would be very in character!

                      1. Lol there's also an opportunity to channel some oblivious Wynonna with her showing up in full leather riding gear and boots.

                        1. And a motorcycle helmet!

I'm also currently remembering something I saw in Oregon last year: a leather pouch that you can attach to your bike that fits a beer growler. Only, in Wynonna's case, it would fit a big bottle of whiskey

                          1. Hahaha oh yeah, definitely whiskey. I'm wondering if a sleeve of donuts could fit in a standard water bottle holder.

                            1. It does fit. I've done it :)

                                1. Ha! Yes :)

Donuts, beer, burritos...all fit very perfectly into bottle cages

                                  1. Cookies? Like a package of them?

                                        1. Haha! Totally! Although it might get embarrassing (for me) at some point ;) Sooooo many snacks!

                                          1. Lol just start showing up to races with various snacks tucked in it and see how long it takes for people to notice.

I also am thinking Wynonna might be envious of the shirts with the pocket on the back...just think of how many flasks she could store!

                                            1. I once had parmesan crusted potatoes in my jersey for snacks! (That was for a "ride like they used to do in the 1960s" kind of event and apparently the Tour de France riders used to eat those...and chicken drumsticks...while riding!)

Confession: I often wear a jersey that looks like a regular flannel shirt but has those back pockets. I wear it to work, to the pub etc. Pockets are awesome!

                                              1. So if you put them in your jersey in tin-foil on a hot day, do they cook while you ride? Post-ride carbs!

Lol to the flannel jersey. That's pretty awesome.

                                                1. They were in tin foil, but pre-cooked. Nice snack while riding, but a bit messy with the cheese. Better than sugary gels, though!
