    I don't know what benefit there is to Morgana to turn Vivian into a Harpy, but I'm sure when Arthur tells Uther, he will get in trouble.

    1. I don't think Merlin's being paranoid, he gets that kind of reaction enough for him to expect it. That scene was hard to write though, trying to balance the two opposing perspectives.

      As intelligent as Morgana is, I don't see her as careful planner. This is a chaos move. She's just trying to see how much trouble she can stir up that she can take advantage of. A war between Olaf's kingdom and Camelot could suit her purposes nicely, and Olaf's got enough of a temper to make that outcome plausible. She just hasn't reckoned on Arthur's diplomatic skills.
