   Jesus Christ. Oh, man, I'm so excited. This was splendid to read!!! The background into the collared ones is fascinating, but what gets me the most is how uneasy Sam feels about it. Sam has such a good soul! I can only imagine how it's going to be for him when he has to see another kid treated like a slave, and I doubt John will be the warmest person. I can't wait!!!!! Also, this line killed me "it requires all hands on deck, and sometimes some of those hands need to be shackled". Holy cow. There's something so haunting about that visual. You're awesome. Also, I did read Semper Familia a while back and loved it, I'm so excited to see the roles reversed in this and your take in on slavery.

      Thanks again for sharing your feelings about the chapter!
      I hope I'm not leaning too much on "Semper Familia", it's such a compelling work. There will be some repeating themes, but of course, the AU premise is different.
      You can trust Sam to stand up to John if he has to, our brave Sammy!
