It's kind of funny actually, part of the reason I stopped doing this story is because of the backstory, more specifically the show providing more backstory into Bunnicula's past. When I started writing this story, the most backstory we got was that Bunnicula was once owned by a vampire who owned a weird magic mirror. When the show introduced Bunnicula's old owner and expanded on the lore a bit, I was kind of faced with a dilemma. Do I continue to write more lore/backstory with this story, even though a number of things I wrote already contradict the show, or do I rework the story to go more in line with the show.
In the end, I just kinda gave up writing this (just a little note, it would have ended with Chester back to normal and a little epilogue explaining Bunnicula's thoughts after Chester dies of old age) and ended up writing a one-shot instead (Sick) which didn't really provide any backstory at all.
Still, I'm glad you liked this little story, even though it is unfinished. Maybe someday I'll go back to this story and complete it.
