Given that Damian has broken free of his father once already and Ra's' superiority complex maybe he would be confident enough to allow Damian to go roaming for a while. Still I can't help but think that he would still keep tabs on Damian somehow.
Given how possesive Bruce has been in this story it seems to me like he would pull out every mundane and magical trick he can to track down Damian. For one thing there has to be some of Damian's hair in his room. In a lot of magical traditions having a part of whoever you are trying to cast a spell is massively helpful. Not to mention that bond Damian and Richard share, I bet you could do all sorts of magic though that.
Something would have to stop Talia from tracking down Damian given how possesive she is in this fic. Maybe Ra's word would be enough but somehow I don't think so.
I love the idea. It doesn't mean I'm going to use it, haha, because that would mean not following the story-draft I already wrote out.
Excellent points there. I can see Ra's finding a way to keep an eye on his grandson.
Perhaps he could go in that direction with such magic, Bruce using magic to locate Damian, but Damian in turn could find a way to protect himself from location spells.
Seems like Bruce would have a pretty big advantage in a magic off with Damian. He has experience, wealth so he can just buy whatever magic items he needs for whereas Damian would have to find/steal implements and components for his magic and he has a base of operation unlike Lil D who would have to spend time on finding food and a place to sleep each day.
