I hate to burst your bubble, and that actually sounds like a fic I'd read, but this is a story that I've already finished. I'm touching it up from my Fanfiction account where the full story and part of the second installment are. Neville in this story is a legacy of Ceres, Roman form of Demeter. Harry is going to end up with not Thanatos. I would probably read a story like the one you just outlined if you wrote it, though!

Harry is bonded at 16, but is losing his humanity after he collected the deathly hallows, and kill voldie, so he has only some years before he must accept his duty as companion of death (he doesn't get he will be married to death also) collecting souls and the lot, before he left the mortal realm he must save his family and the magic of the world.
