The reason for my Author's Notes in my most recent chapter is that people are asking themselves what happened to Malfoy's ghost rather than some of the other questions raised at this point in the story...
There are multiple other questions raised that are as of yet unanswered but no one has yet mentioned them -- although Cora did an excellent job of extrapolating the details re: Malfoy. So, I worry that the way I'm telling the story hasn't nudged the reader to begin thinking in the right direction(s).
I think this is what happens when you build up a story over a very long period of time.
Second, because of the long time and all of the details involved in this story, I'm hoping that people will point out issues, serve as beta-readers-in-progress; if someone raises a point I haven't thought of, it's a great opportunity to fix the error and improve the story. :)
I beg your indulgence if this goes too far off topic, but I would be interested in your thoughts on questions that no one has answered or touched in any time travel story I have read.
If future Ron's essence is in teen Ron's body, what happened to teen Ron? Will teen Ron suffer from a year long memory gap or is he in there somewhere? I would imagine teen Ron would develope serious mental issues if he retains any of future Ron's horrid memories of seeing loved ones die. No one seems to care about the " husk" being used.
I promise I'll be back on topic on future chapters, lol.

No, it's absolutely a great question, and this story does address that. I also wonder about these things.
I feel pretty comfortable with time travel stories because of a story I wrote ages ago: Happily Married, a Ranma 1/2 fanfic. I spoke to friends and acquaintances of all ages, sometimes for hours, about the nature of time travel and, while I'm sure I got a good deal wrong if time travel were ever to be real / work, I got it all rather fixed in my mind. That is, I answered these types of questions to my own, personal satisfaction.
In that story, the person traveled forward in time within their own body, just as Ron travels backwards here. In that case, they *changed places* with their older self. Nature abhors a vacuum and all that.
That is not 'the answer' in this particular case. I like my answers slightly less neat, now.
