Alice dropping off the Jones girls at the trailer park. Continuing her little moment with Gladys, it getting easier to hold her hand with practice. Gladys having to psych herself up to even go knock on the door because she's not quite ready to see FP. And FP locks the trailer because Fred is the only one who'd leave his door unlocked in a town where murders just run free, of course. Their embrace, their chaste kisses, their more intimate kisses... AND THE RETURN OF THE LIL BEER BELLY BLESS I MISSES IT SO. Alice reunited families left and right on Christmas eve yet she still has this ache in her chest she can't quite describe... sigh. And finally time to go home to her own husband and daughter.
I want to cry. Betty (with a little help from hal of course) already started preparations for dinner of course. Alice normally starts Christmas eve dinner prep at 8 am because of course she does. Oh Alice. I love her double checking everything Betty has done and, since it's all perfect, she has to just make more work for them. The mashed potatoes or scapploed! What about the sweet potatoes! We need more cookies! Oh Alice. Chill. And Betty telling Alice she can help by just making Hal's marshmallow salad (which god i know alice never eats herself) because she's the only one who give it that extra special touch Hal loves...
Alice sending Betty off to invite Veronica over because she just NEEDS to make sure everyone has the perfect holiday and she knows things are tense between the Lodges right now. And while I'm sure she really does want to look out for Veronica, we all know she really just wants Betty out of the kitchen so that she can do everything herself. Stress mode is Alice's default setting, especially at Christmas time.
Okay, and that Alice (and the whole town apparently?) calls them the McKellers is the funniest damn thing. And her knowing that no matter what name they settle on post marriage, it's still going to be the McKellers to everyone is so cute. Alice just flat out forgetting that Betty didn't know Archie was home and her dropping the wine! I love that Alice picks out a fun pair of shoes just because she knows that she can get a nice compliment out of Kevin. Too cute.
Thinking back on her trip with Gladys AND SHE'S REMINDED OF WHEN SHE AND BETTY WENT TO GO SEE CAROL AND BETTY BLUSHED THE ENTIRE TIME. SHUT UP. I can top that, Betty... I watched Black Swan with my mom and that was the most uncomfortable two hours of my life.
THE PUSSYCATS BACK TOGETHER. BLESS. I know Hal is going to be over the moon when Alice tells them. God Alice is really that person who needs to walk in with a gift for everyone and I love that about her? Like she probably never had a nice Christmas as a kid so she over does it. She could have very well just sent the McKellers a card or called to wish them merry Christmas, but instead she had to go over with wine and chocolates and make sure each each kid had something and she STILL feels guilty that she doesnt have something for Mel and Val. And Josie seeing Bohemian Rhapsody is what made her want to not be a solo act... my heart. Alice saying Fred and Oscar were big Queen fans! The Live aid concert.. My heart...
Kevin with his face full of candy. I will never forgive s1 for teasing us with digest Kevin who shared Jughead's love of food and then fell short. (kevin and his big ass candy bar from the vending machine, him ordering all that food from the concession stand at the movies..)
Tom better be sheriff again! Alice warning him Archie is back in town so he can look out for him. And everyone concerned for Fred!!
Alice's texts with FP. The friendship with deserve! Him sending dirty texts with his wife probably sitting their reading them too... I expect nothing less of him.
