everything has already been discussed *hides behind her fan*
If you saw the other comments, you might have noticed that Aramis' sad, tragic childhood and background were discussed in much detail. The poor thing suffered so greatly when Mother sent him scratchy woollens.
I love that you are writing from Porthos' POV so that we have almost the same amount of true info about Aramis and his scheming as we get in canon.
Yes, that way I didn't have to come up with a Plot, because Porthos wouldn't know what's going on anyway. A limited PoV is very useful!
He doesn't kiss just everyone's hand like THAT! Like he means it.
No indeed! Marie receives the best kisses <3
Incidentally, I noticed only the other day that the German translation of 20YA says "Aramis war der Geliebte von Madame de Chevreuse" - nicht "Liebhaber". Ah, the subtle difference between "lover" and "beloved"! (As El said: Well, we know who was the top in that relationship.)
Other than when she is dressed in Aramis' clothing and he thinks she is an abbé, or otherwise smelling like Aramis
That is the most reasonable explanation of Athos' surprising one-night stand in a curate's bed.
I need more details for my headcanon, here. Are we speaking Ares, Apollon, Poseidon?
Ah, Porthos doesn't know or care :D And canon doesn't elaborate which demigod he resembled, either...
Now, you have Athos and me surprised! XD
Well, the whole bit with Aramis taking the veil is lifted from 3M, where he does the same with d'Art. So, Athos would probably not be surprised, he's seen it before! In times of distress, Athos locks himself up with wine, Aramis puts on a black robe and decides to become a monk.
Poor Aramis and his despair over certain cousin's letters or the lack of such. All the drama! It is so endearing how it always breaks his young and stormy heart...
Yes, he does suffer muchly. The poor thing! But on the other hand - he probably enjoys suffering and moping from time to time, he probably finds himself a nice Benedictine monastery and listens to doleful Gregorian chants, seeing as emo hasn't been invented yet. (He probably inspired Goethe to write Leiden des jungen Werther, hah!)
If Aramis wasn't as smitten, yet, he would have realised that Marie would never have called _him_ René in a letter... way too uncunning!
Yes, the René doesn't make sense, but let's just handwave it, like we do with canonical plotholes. It was necessary for a Letter to Go Astray to make the cabal complete.
